Bayelsa: Assistant Police Commissioner, Dies In His Sleep

Bayelsa state police commissioner, simply identified as Odunmbaku has died in his sleep.

Odunmbaku whose sudden demise has been confirmed by the state command was also in charge of the Department of Operations until his demise.

The Police Spokesman, CSP Asinim Butswat confirmed the development but did not provide any details regarding the circumstances surrounding the officer’s death.

“The State Police Command regrets to announce the dem! se of ACP Oluseye Odunmbaku, until his death, he was the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations,” Butswat said in a terse statement.

“A condolence register has been opened at the command headquarters, Ovom, Yenagoa. May his soul rest in peace”, the statement said.

He was said to have collapsed in his residence at an estate within the state capital, Yenagoa.
