A Bayelsa -based public advocate, Comrade Ndoni Timipere has outrightly condemned the military invasion of Letugbene Community in Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State in Saturday.

This was contained in a statement signed by himself and a copy was sent to Congress newspaper on Wednesday evening.

Ndoni called on the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, the Army Chief of staff and other Security Agents responsible for the action, to be cautioned over their inimical activities, adding that the military invasion was uncalled for.

The activist lamented that properties worth millions of Naira including several buildings were destroyed in the community by the military.

He stated: “As a fighter of justice and a lover of all, I advice the Nigeria Army to tender unreserved apology to the good people of Letugbene Community and Niger Delta in general for their unprofessional and unwarranted destructions caused in the community.

He expressed dismay of the military activities of always killing innocent citizens and burning of communities in Niger Delta region on every slightest provocation.

“If I may ask how many communities the military has burnt down due to a missing soldier or as regards to banditry and other leading crimes in the Northern Nigeria”, he queried.
