Benue Attack: LG Chairmen, Police In Disarray over Herdsmen Killing

The Police and the Chairmen of logo and Katsina-Ala local government areas of Benue state are in disarray over the number of people slaughtered in a fresh attack
Meanwhile, Reports said no fewer than 30 residents were killed in some communities across the two local government areas of the state by the suspected herdsmen men.
However, the herdsmen started attack on Sunday and continued till the early hours of Monday, adding that 10 corpses were retrieved in Kastina-Ala while 20 were picked up in Logo.
Justine Shaku, chairman of Katsina-Ala while briefing the pressmen, said the gunmen killed a lot of people and destroyed valuable properties in his area.
Also, the Logo LGA Chairman, Clement Kav, noted that the assault took ownership of his council area
“They claimed that Tombo land belongs to them.
“They assaulted Tombo council ward and killed 17 persons and injured 37,” he said.
However, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, in the state, Catherine Anene, said only five bodies were retrieved.
