BREAKING: Angry youths set Union Bank ablaze, destroy First bank ATM machines over old naira notes in Warri

Angry protesters of Udu, near Warri, Udu local government area of Delta state have set ablaze Union Bank, Udu branch and destroyed ATM machines in First bank and Access bank early this morning.

The angry protesters reportedly stormed the bank to exchange old naira notes but unfortunately were told that the old naira notes are no longer a legal tender.

This spurred anger among the angry protesters and they eventually set the bank on fire and destroyed ATM machines of other banks.

The protesters blocked major roads in area, and chased out POS operators and closed down shops.

Source said the police drafted to the scenes shot live bullets to scare the protesters, adding that one of the protesters was shot in the leg.
