BREAKING: Court Sentences Officer Drambi Vandi to Death by hanging for killing Bolanle Raheem

The Lagos High Court has handed down a
verdict of death by hanging for Officer Drambi Vandi, the suspended assistant superintendent of police, who stood accused of the murder of Bolanle Raheem, a prominent female lawyer.

Recall, Drambi Vandi, who pleaded not guilty to the murder charges, was brought before the Lagos State High Court at the Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) annexe for a one-count charge of murder on Monday, October 9.

The tragic incident occurred on December 25 when Raheem Bolanle was allegedly shot dead by Officer Vandi in the Ajah area of Lagos.

The victim was returning home from a Christmas outing with her family when the horrifying shooting transpired.

This Christmas Day killing drew condemnation from diverse segments of society, including the political elite.

However, the police officer, Drambi Vandi, has been sentenced to death by hanging.
