Breaking: Gunmen kill policeman, escape with rifle in Warri

Suspected gunmen have reportedly killed a policeman and escaped with his rifle in Uti junction in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.

The incident occurred at about 11 am on Sunday, June 5, 2022. It was learnt the policeman was on a motorcycle when he was suddenly shot dead by the gunmen.

Another source alleged that the gunmen escaped with two police rifles after killing the victim.

The source said the deceased policeman was carrying two rifles, one for his colleague who was not at duty at the moment he left, while the other one belongs to him.

Meantime, details of the incident are still sketchy at the time of filing this report.

However, an effort to reach Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe for comment proved abortive as his cellphone number was not connecting.
