Buhari Grants Over 60 Ex-Corps Members Automatic Employment

Former members of the National Youth Service Corps ( NYSC )has been granted automatic employment by President Muhammedu Buhari.

During the 50th National Youth Service Corps anniversary, the number one citizen, highlighted various achievements of the scheme.

The scheme was established 50 years ago, the Anniversary Honours Award held at the State House Conference Center, Abuja on Thursday.

During the anniversary, out of 65 recipients, 52 received the Presidential Honours Award, while 13 were physically challenged Ex-corps Members recognised under the Scheme Hope Alive Programme.

The president gave scholarship to both groups of awardees to further their education up to doctorate degree at any university in the country.

Apart from the employment, award and scholarship, the president announced a cash prize of N250,000 for each of the Ex-corps members.

However, with immediate effect, the president ordered the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, the Federal Civil Service Commission, and the Minister of Education to ensure employment offers and the granting of scholarships.

The president used the opportunity to pay tribute to corps members from the batches being honoured, who lost their lives under various circumstances while serving the nation.
