Burutu PDP deputy-chair, Ogei announces canopy-dropping on mother’s death August 20

The deputy-chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, Hon. Lawson Ogei and his younger brother, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Hon. Brown Ogei have announced the canopy-dropping of their late mother on Saturday 20th August, 2022 at Oraka Estate by old Recozee Hotel, off Refinery Road to end open visitation by sympathizers.

It would be recalled that Mrs Toke-ere Ogei (nee Ekerefe), the mother of the Burutu PDP deputy-chairman Ogei, died at the age of 78years after a brief illness in the early hours of Friday 12th August 2022 at the University Teaching Hospital, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

This was contained in a press statement signed by the family and made available to the press on Tuesday evening.

It was gathered that until her death, she was a retired civil servant and Aleibiri community women leader.

According to the statement, the canopy-dropping would be marked by a formal gathering of sympathizers, family members and friends at her son Brown Ogei’s residence.

The family also said it would announce the date of the proper burial at due time.
