Foremost awarding winning Niger Delta rights and environmental activist, Comrade Ozobo Austin, has called on President Bola Tinubu to convene National Conference to address the concerns of the Niger Delta region.

This was asserted in a statement he signed by himself and made available to newsmen on Thursday.

Ozobo, who won Niger Delta Activist of the Year in the recent MAHA2023 awards, had won several awards on Niger Delta and rights advocacy from reputable organizations both home and abroad in recent times.

According to the statement, Niger Delta wants to divorce Nigeria’s following the continued marginalization, deprivation and militarization of the region.

He said the region is tired of feeding the nation with her oil resources without a commensurate reward for the marginalized people of the region.

Ozobo narrated that Niger Delta remains the most undeveloped region despite the enormous oil resources in the region on which the country’s economy is hinged.

He said the Tinubu administration would be greeted with a series of agitations and protests from the Niger Delta if he failed to convene National dialogue to address the concerns of the Niger Delta region.

The Niger Delta youth leader said the 13 percent derivation, Niger Delta ministry and NDDC are no longer sustainable, describing such cosmic palliatives and Greek gifts which had been hijacked by cabals of the same oppressors.

He added that the region had rejected all palliative measures as it was meant to blindfold the region to steal her precious gold, saying that only genuine efforts at addressing the concerns of the Niger Delta would be accepted.
