Two automobiles were involved in a collision on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Saturday that resulted in three fatalities and seven injuries.

In a statement released on Sunday in Abeokuta, Mrs. Florence Okpe, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Public Education Officer in Ogun, verified the event.

According to Okpe, a Toyota Hiace bus and a trailer were involved in the incident, which happened at 9:23 p.m.

She claims that the bus driver lost control of the vehicle due to speeding, which is what caused the collision.

The FRSC representative went on to say that there were 18 persons involved in the accident—16 men and 2 women.

According to her, three people died and seven people were injured in the collision. According to Okpe, the dead were placed in the hospital’s morgue while the injured victims were brought to Idera Hospital in Sagamu for medical care.

She claims that because of the weather, drivers should exercise caution during this period of increased vehicle traffic and low visibility. This is according to Sector Commander Anthony Uga.

“Common sense speed limit is the best,” Uga declared, denouncing drivers who drive too fast.
