Court awards N6.2M damage against self-acclaimed activist Tega, One Osunbor over extortion, assault on businessman

The Delta State High Court Sitting at Effurun, Delta State presided over by Hon. Justice Dolor on Thursday 28th of November, 2024 entered a judgment in favour of one Akpan Shadrack in a fundamental right action filed by his lawyer Barr. Igho Ogedegbe (Mrs.) of OGEDEBGE & OGEDEBGE Law Firm.
It was gathered that the female lawyer is a wife to the foremost human rights activist, Omes Ogedegbe filed the application on behalf of the applicant seeking several orders.
Congress learnt that the case of the applicant was to the effect he was contracted by one Mr. Henry Osunbor supplied to his new hotel at Otokutu, Delta State some networking equipment and took delivery of the goods on the 1st of July, 2023.
According to the applicant, when he took the products to the hotel of Henry Osunbor, he met one Tega Shalokpe who claimed the items he brought were not correct and before he could confirm from his suppliers, the said Henry Osunbor and Tega Shalokpe had invited the police and together they beat him up and stripped him almost naked to his pants.
The lawyer stated that “the victim was took to Ebrumede police station where they withdrew the total sum of one million four hundred and eighty thousand (#1,480,000) from his account to the account of Tega Shalokpe and another account. They thereafter seized his car and he was requested to pay seven hundred thousand (#700,000) for his car to be released”.
The applicant counsel Igho Ogedegbe, Esq. (Mrs.) urged the court to grant the applicant application and the court entered judgment jointly and severally against Henry Osunbor, Tega Shalokpe and the police.
The court made a further order for them to apologize to the applicant within 8 days there from.
