The Plateau State House of Assembly saga took a twist as tear gas was used by armed officers on Tuesday to scatter PDP lawmakers who had been dismissed from the Plateau State House of Assembly grounds.
After being dismissed by the Court of Appeal, the 16 PDP lawmakers showed up at the Assembly Complex on Tuesday and demanded to be allowed to participate in the House session.
Before the start of plenary again on Tuesday, the politicians and their supporters arrived at the Rayfield Old Government House in Jos, as previously reported.
In an attempt to prevent the dismissed lawmakers from entering the House of Assembly rooms, police officers and other security personnel invaded the Government House grounds. However, the beleaguered lawmakers had promised not to leave the property.
