Court gives order to remand Zenith Bank Manager in federal prison in Delta

The Magistrate Court setting in Osubi Magistrate district,Delta State has ordered the remand to prison of the Branch Manager of Zenith Bank in Refinery Junction, by 7up Effurun near Warri, in the federal correctional centre Warri, Delta State for failing to comply with the Order of the Honourable Court dated December, 2024.
The court in SUIT NO: MCOSU|M|273(2024) in a motion on Notice brought against the bank by UMEMIRORO MAXWELL OGEDEGBE ESQ following the manager’s refusal to add one of his omitted names into his BVN registration.
In an earlier order, the Court had directed the Respondents to include the other name of the Applicant “Maxwell” to the Bank Verification Number generated by the 2nd Respondent.
Congress gathered that before the remand order, the court in an ORDER, directing the Respondent to reflect the complete name of the Applicant as OMEMIRORO MAXWELL OGEDEGBE, ESQ in the Bank Verification Number of the Applicant bearing OMEMIRORO OGEDEGBE while the NIN and other documents of the Applicant bears OMEMIRORO MAXWELL OGEDEGBE.
His Worship Akporido Irikefe Ogheneruemu Chief Magistrate GDIl on Friday the 28th day of February, 2025 while presiding over the case observed the absence of the respondents in court after the applicant announced his appearance.
However, the applicant Omemiroro Ogedegbe moved his terms of motion paper dated the 24th day of January, 2025 and filed on the 2nd day of February, 2025, but following the absence of any opposition as the application was duly served, the court frowned over the respondents failure to comply with the order of the court made on the 9th day of December, 2024.
His Worship Akporido after hearing the position of the applicant, considered the respondents action as disobedience of the order of the Court in spite of the service of the forms 48 and 49 on the 1st respondent for about three months.
The court however, ordered the first respondent to be remanded in the correctional centre Sapele until the order of the Honourable Court made on the 9th day of December, 2025 is fully complied with.
