CP Ari decorates 130 promoted police officers in Delta

The Commissioner of Police Delta State Command has decorated 130 newly promoted officers in the state headquarters, Asaba on Friday.

This was contained in a statement signed by the state PPRO, DSP Bright Edafe which was sent to Congress correspondent in Asaba.

According to Edafe, the officers decorated were part of those who benefited from the recently released promotion by the Inspector General of Police IGP Alkali Baba Usman PSC+ FDC, NPM, adding that a total of one hundred and thirty officers were promoted to their next rank.

However, those promoted are the Area Commander Ogwashi-Uku, ACP Obiozo Cyril Uche promoted to the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police, and Area Commander Burutu ACP Adepegba Kolawole Adetoye also promoted to the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police. The DPO Ugborikoko CSP Okon Martha Edet who was promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police was decorated by the Commissioner of Police.

Others decorated included DSP Achem Collins Arrey, DSP Princewell Eke, and DSP Akanya Agboga all of which were ASP before their promotions, the 2/IC PPRO, ASP Edna Bassey was promoted from the rank of ASP II to ASP I.

The CP who was assisted by members of his management team in his remarks noted that the promotion was part of the IGP’s way of motivating officers and men of the force.

The CP also stated that the reward for hard work is diligence and prudent service delivery, maintaining that the decorated officers in the command should note that, “as their ranks have increased, it comes with increased responsibility.”

He further added, “It was all smiles as the Delta State Commissioner of Police CP Ari Muhammed Ali FCIA, psc+ decorated the newly promoted officers of the Command.”

Meantime, the CP thanked IGP Usman Alkali Baba psc+, FDC, NPM for finding his officers worthy of the promotion. He further urged promoted officers to be hard working, stating that to whom much is given, much is expected.

Speaking on behalf of the promoted officers, ACP Okon Martha Edet, one of the promoted officers thanked the IGP for finding them worthy of the promotions and also assured the IGP and the CP that they would not disappoint them, adding that they would brace up to the new challenges that come with the new ranks.
