Criminality will stop if Obaseki pays more attention to Inikorogha community -Comrade Bright

Following the oppression, intimidation and threats on individuals in the Inikorogha community by an Ex-militant leader, an indigene of the community has called on the Edo State government to pay more attention to the community to stop criminality and militancy in it.

Bright, while speaking with newsmen in the Inikorogha community on April 29, during the community general meeting said it was a fact that all is not well with the community.

He added that the meeting on April 29, was not political, adding that he wouldn’t have participated if it was political. Bright, while advising youths to shun violence and criminality in the community, appealed to the governor of Edo state to provide employment for the youth and take it seriously over the development of the community.

His words, “My name is Michael Bright if I should face the fact. Things have not been normal in the Inikorogha community, almost everybody is complaining about the inequality in the community. There is a need for people to come together to take a unanimous decision to reposition things in the community. This is the only way peace can be restored in the community. Peace will elude to Inikorogha if there is no equal right. The meeting today April 29 wasn’t political. If it were political I wouldn’t have participated. I want the total participation of members of the community in community affairs.

“In the previous years, there was no participation of members in the governance of the community because there is no equal right in the community. But now that peace and a sigh of relief are gradually returning. I urged my people to be keenly involved in communal issues. I strongly believe with a strong participation of members of the community in the issues of the community, oppression, inequality and dictatorship will be a thing of the past. I don’t want to mention names for personal and security reasons of persons who have caused torment to people in the community but the truth of the matter is that there are serious issues to address in the community.

“It is my advice to the youths of the community to shun violence, criminality and embrace peace in the community. I appeal to youths of the community to come together and do what is right. Most especially we should not politicize things in the community.

“We should allow general decisions to flow in the community. This is part of the things that will bring development to the community. I appeal to Edo state governor Godwin Obaseki to pay attention to the community affairs, equally, remember the community with laudable developmental strides.

“He should empower the youths and bring necessary amenities to the community. Let the community feel the government’s presence so that the issues of criminality and militancy will reduce drastically,” he noted.
