Death of Akeredolu: Aiyedatiwa announces three-day mourning period

In honour of the late Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has declared a three-day mourning period at the state capital
Wednesday morning was Akeredolu’s time of death.
The governor’s chief press secretary, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, provided newsmen with a statement on Wednesday in Akure that included this information.
Aiyedatiwa states that from Thursday, December 28, to Saturday, December 30, 2023, there will be a period of sorrow accompanying fasting and prayer.
In keeping with the mood of the state, he further declared that all national flags would fly for seven days at half-mast.
Along with declaring a period of mourning, the governor also announced the cancellation of state official events.
“Meanwhile, condolence registers have been opened at the Governor’s Office and the Government House in Akure, as well as at the State Liaison Offices in Lagos and Abuja.
“May the soul of our late leader rest in perfect peace, amen,” he said.
