Delta CP Joins Uvwie Kingdom for Groundbreaking of Effurun Area Command Permanent Site

The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Yemi John Oyeniyi, on Tuesday represented the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, at the groundbreaking ceremony for the permanent site of the Effurun Area Command in Uvwie Kingdom, Delta State.
The event, held on June 30, 2026, attracted a distinguished gathering of traditional rulers, government officials, security chiefs, community leaders, and other key stakeholders, marking a significant milestone in efforts to strengthen policing infrastructure and improve security service delivery in the state.
Leading the host community was His Royal Majesty, Dr. Emmanuel Sideso, Abe I, JP, OON, the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, who welcomed the Inspector-General’s representative and other dignitaries to the historic ceremony.
Also in attendance were royal fathers from across the state, senior officers of sister security agencies, senior police officers, government representatives, and notable stakeholders who witnessed the symbolic commencement of the construction of the permanent Area Command headquarters.
The project is expected to enhance operational efficiency, improve police-community relations, and provide a more conducive environment for effective policing in Effurun and surrounding communities.
The Delta State Police Command described the ceremony as another demonstration of the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to strengthening security infrastructure through collaboration with traditional institutions, government, and local communities.
