By Chukwunonso Eric, Warri.
The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Samuel E. Erale, psc, mnips, has intensified inter-agency collaboration with sister security agencies as part of efforts to enhance security ahead of the forthcoming general elections and the Ember months.
CP Erale made the move on Friday, October 16, 2026, during courtesy visits to the Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Sector Command 5.2 in Delta State.
At the NSCDC State Command, the Commissioner met with the State Commandant, Commandant Chinedu F. Igbo, where he emphasised the importance of intelligence sharing, joint operational planning and proactive security measures ahead of the elections. He stressed that effective coordination among security agencies would be critical to identifying and addressing emerging electoral security threats and ensuring a peaceful electoral process.
The Police Commissioner also visited the FRSC Sector Command 5.2, where he met with the Sector Commander, Corps Commander Charles E. Edem. Their discussions focused on the expected increase in vehicular movement during the Ember months, with CP Erale calling for stronger collaboration in traffic management, congestion control and road safety enforcement, particularly on major highways and busy routes across the state.
CP Erale appreciated the existing cordial relationship between the Police and other security and safety agencies in Delta State, reaffirming the Command’s commitment to sustained cooperation and coordinated operations to maintain law and order, protect lives and property, and enhance public safety.
The Police Command said the engagement forms part of the Commissioner’s broader familiarisation and security coordination efforts aimed at strengthening the collective response to security and public safety challenges across the state.
