Delta Govt Reveals Plans For World-Class Sports Facility In Warri

Delta State, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has disclosed plans to transform the Warri Township Stadium into a world-class sports facility.

This gigantic project aims to provide state-of-the-art amenities and attract international sports events to the region.

Congress learnt that the Warri Township Stadium, located in the heart of Warri, is currently undergoing a comprehensive overhauling to meet the standards of a world-class sports facility.

It was gathered that the Oborevwori’s administration is determined to create a modern sports complex that would not only cater to the needs of local athletes but also serve as a venue for international sporting events.

However, the proposed improvements to the stadium included the installation of modern artificial turf, a state-of-the-art electronic scoreboard, and an advanced lighting system to facilitate nighttime events.

Moreover, the stadium would feature upgraded seating arrangements, modern locker rooms, and improved accessibility for people with disabilities.

The Governor further emphasised the importance of sports in promoting unity and fostering talent among the youth.

“We believe that investing in sports infrastructure will not only boost the local economy but also provide a platform for our talented athletes to showcase their skills on the international stage.”
