According to the Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom Youth Council and Ijaw Youth Council, it’s the turn of the Ogbe-Ijoh ward to take the helm, following a longstanding zoning agreement fostering unity and peace between the Itsekiri and Ijaw tribes.
The letter further stated that, despite past rotations, Ogbe-Ijoh and Isaba wards remained the Ijaw communities yet to produce Chairman.

The Isaba ward in the immediate past elected executive, produced the Vice Chairman, Hon. Arthur Akpodubakaye, leaving Ogbe-Ijoh ward as the only ward to produce either Chairman or Vice Chairman of the Council. It is on this premise that we want to appeal to the Governor of Delta State and men of conscience to maintain and uphold the said zoning arrangement for the office of the Executive Chairman of Warri South West Local Government Council and ensure that the next Chairman comes from Ogbe-Ijoh Ward for equity and justice.
While pledging our unalloyed loyalty and support to His Excellency, the Governor of Delta State, we look forward to a positive response from your Excellency in this regard.
