The Youths of Delta State under the auspices of the Coalition of Delta Indigenous Youth Leaders Forum have commended His Excellency Rt Honorable (Elder) Sheriff F. O Oborevwori, the Executive Governor for the flagging off the construction of the three flyovers and roads in Warri and Effurun axis in the state.

The group in a statement signed by its Chairman Comr Crested Gometi said the Forum was birthed to unite the Youths of the State across the 3 Senatorial districts with the main objective of working with all relevant Stakeholders in and outside Delta State to work towards restoring the lost glory of Delta State.

The statement reads, “It became necessary to swing into action because we were so worried over the constant social-economic depreciation in Delta State due to the unhealthy business environment and poor attention by political leaders over the years which negatively affected local and international investors to operate in our dear State, especially Warri/Effurun and its environ.

“Our eyes were open watching Warri/Effurun and its environment, one of the most industrialised areas in Delta State almost degenerating into a refugee camp. It was almost hopeless, if not the MORE agenda of our Excellency Rt Honorable Sheriff Oborevwori that is all-inclusive and result-oriented that revived our hopes and the hope of every Deltan.

“We are very glad and thankful to our able Governor for his smooth and fruitful takeoff point. It shows he was divinely chosen by God Almighty to reposition our dear State, and we will do everything within our capacity to support his restoration agenda throughout his tenure.

“We are determined to unite the Youths across the 3 senatorial districts in Delta State to Support this administration irrespective of Political parties, Religious background, and Ethnic nationality to achieve the MORE Agenda of our Excellency.

“We use this opportunity to appeal to all political appointees to emulate the gesture of His Excellency in their respective areas of assignment to critically assess the current challenges of the masses and objectively engage in activities that can complement the effort of our Governor in the move to restore the lost glory of our State.

“It’s our major target to bring out violent youths from the street into meaningful services through constructive engagement as part of strategies to secure a crime-free society capable of attracting meaningful development.

“We also use this opportunity to advise contractors and individuals who are in one way or the other related to the projects to ensure quality delivery services and also put Safety Precautions in place throughout the construction period to ensure the safety of workers, properties and road users,” he noted.
