President Bola Tinubu has emerged as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the 2027 general election after securing almost 11 million votes in the party’s nationwide primary.

Tinubu defeated his only challenger, Stanley Osifo, by polling 10,999,967 votes against Osifo’s 16,504 votes in the direct primary conducted across 8,809 wards in the country.

The results were announced during the national collation exercise held at the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja.

Tinubu recorded commanding victories across several states, including Lagos, Kaduna, Kano, Imo, Delta, Rivers, Benue, and Katsina, further strengthening his grip on the ruling party ahead of the 2027 election.

The primary election was supervised by governors, party leaders, and members of the Presidential Primary Election Committee chaired by former Senate President Pius Anyim.
