The Delta Ijaw Comrade Community, comprising all Ijaw Human Rights Activists in Delta State on Monday felicitated the new leadership of Ogulagha Kingdom Youth Council (OKYC).

The group issued the congratulatory message through its president Amb. Binebai Yerin Princewill on Tuesday.

Princewill commended the people of Ogulagha Kingdom for the peaceful transition, adding that DICC is proud of them and would always play a supportive role to advance the kingdom’s activities.

The group had expressed optimism that the new OKYC led by Comr. Roland Dede would no doubt work for the progress of the Kingdom and Ijaw nation at large, maintaining that Dede Roland could move the youth forward, being a tested and trusted youth leader in the system.

DICC president said the antecedents of Dede in the Ogulagha Kingdom over the years speak volumes about him, noting that OKYC is in capable hands.

The statement reads, “We are happy that one of our own Comr. Welemu Jnr, alias Agbobudila, a highly respected former President of DICC is also now the Publicity Secretary of OKYC. We will always look for common grounds to collaborate with OKYC for the common good of the people whenever the need arises.

“As I said earlier, the choice of Welemu Williams as Publicity Secretary of OKYC at this point is worth celebrating as he is capable of the job.

“Welemu Williams Jnr is good for the job, he is mature and ripe enough. DICC is truly proud of him. We know him very well that he will dispense his intellectual ability in advancing the kingdom to the admiration of all.

“I know, he will always deliver, he will intellectually articulate the many developmental woes confronting the Kingdom.

“Once again congratulations!!” he stated.
