DJ Chicken Arrested Over Alleged Threat Against President Tinubu’s Son

Controversial disc jockey and TikTok personality, Ademola Abiodun, popularly known as DJ Chicken, has reportedly been arrested following a viral video in which he allegedly made a threatening remark about Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu.

The arrest was disclosed on Thursday by his lawyer, Rotimi Stephen, who said the social media personality was apprehended in Ikeja, Lagos.

According to the lawyer, the arrest is linked to a video DJ Chicken posted on his Instagram page in which, speaking in Yoruba, he allegedly said: “Tinubu, you can’t win the election. If you win, I will kill Seyi Tinubu. I won’t say more than that.” The video quickly circulated across social media platforms, attracting widespread attention.

Stephen said his client is currently being held at the Ikeja Police Headquarters, although he believes operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) may also be involved in the case.

“DJ Chicken is now with the authorities. He was arrested in Ikeja and is currently at the Ikeja Police Headquarters, but I am very sure it is the DSS. He was arrested in connection with the statement he made some days ago about the President’s son, Seyi Tinubu,” the lawyer said.

Appealing for leniency, Stephen described DJ Chicken as someone who requires support and understanding.

“Fans, well-wishers and people close to the Presidency, please forgive Chicken. He is not mentally okay. We are just managing him. Chicken is my personal project and my own way of giving back to society,” he said.

The lawyer added that he had taken a personal interest in DJ Chicken’s welfare and urged the government to show mercy.

“I picked interest in him as a criminal lawyer. We are doing everything we can to manage him. He is still part of society, and we are pleading with the government to forgive him. We will do everything necessary,” he added.

As of the time of filing this report, neither the Nigeria Police Force nor the Department of State Services had issued an official statement confirming the arrest or the allegations surrounding the case.
