Drama as police arrest married woman who allegedly faked her own kidnapping while in hotel with boyfriend

Meanwhile, source revealed that Mrs. Amony was declared missing a few days ago. Shortly afterwards, an unidentified man reportedly contacted her husband using an unknown phone number, claiming that she had been kidnapped and demanding a ransom of ₦50 million (fifty million naira) for her release.
The situation triggered panic among her family, friends, and relatives, who began making efforts to raise funds and even appealed publicly for financial assistance.
Following a successful tracking operation, after police involvement officers traced the number used to contact her husband by the supposed abductor to a hotel in Obiaruku, Delta state and conducted a raid on the premises.
Unfortunately, to their surprise, police allegedly found Mrs. Amony in the hotel with her boyfriend. Both individuals were subsequently arrested and taken into custody, where they reportedly confessed to orchestrating the kidnapping claim.
Police later informed the husband that his wife had been found. Relieved by the news, he reportedly notified family members and friends that she had been rescued. However, upon arriving at the police station, he was informed that there had been no kidnapping and that his wife had been staying at the hotel with her boyfriend.
Mrs. Oluchi Amony and her boyfriend are currently in police custody as investigations continue.
