Education Revolution: Otuaro Building Stability for Future Generations in Niger Delta – Gen. Ogidigba

The chairman of the third phase amnesty programme, General Godstime Ogidigba has commended the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Dennis Otuaro, for what he described as a visionary leadership approach focused on education and human capital development for youths across the Niger Delta region.

In a statement made available to journalists on Thursday, July 02, 2026, Ogidigba said the ongoing scholarship and educational initiatives of the Amnesty Programme have the potential to transform the mindset of young people and secure a more stable and prosperous future for the region.

According to him, the PAP under Otuaro’s leadership has prioritized educational advancement by providing scholarship opportunities for Niger Delta youths in universities across Nigeria and abroad. He noted that the initiative represents a long-term investment in peace, development and sustainable leadership, stressing that education remains one of the most effective tools for addressing the root causes of unrest and underdevelopment in the region.

Ogidigba described the scholarship programme as an educational revolution that would produce a new generation of skilled professionals and responsible leaders capable of driving economic growth and social transformation across the Niger Delta.

He called on political leaders, traditional rulers, community stakeholders, youth groups and other critical stakeholders in the region to support the ongoing reforms and educational programmes being implemented by the Presidential Amnesty Programme.

The Niger Delta leader also cautioned against what he termed the spread of negative narratives and propaganda targeted at the administration of Chief Dennis Otuaro, urging critics to allow the programme to continue implementing policies aimed at improving the lives of beneficiaries.

According to him, unnecessary attacks on the PAP leadership could undermine ongoing efforts to consolidate peace and expand opportunities for ex-agitators and other youths in the region.

Ogidigba further appealed for calm, peace and unity among leaders and stakeholders as the Amnesty Office resumes its training and empowerment programmes for leaders and delegates under the Presidential Amnesty Programme.

He maintained that collaboration and collective support remain essential to achieving the programme’s objectives of sustainable peace, human capital development and economic empowerment throughout the Niger Delta.

Reaffirming his support for the PAP Administrator, Ogidigba urged Niger Deltans to remain united behind the current leadership of the programme, emphasizing that unity would strengthen ongoing efforts to build a peaceful and prosperous future for the region.
