EFCC arrests 7 internet fraudsters in Abuja

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC arrested seven suspected internet fraudsters in Abuja on Tuesday.

This was disclosed to newsmen by the commission’s spokesman in a tweet on Tuesday.

The commission gave the names of the suspects as, Peter Omega Awupri, Philip Okonkwo, Emeka Okonkwo and Williams Chukwu. Others including Stephen Anthony, Edobor Osas, and Adetola Sunday, were arrested in Gwarimpa, Abuja following credible intelligence on their alleged criminal activities.

According to the commission, three international passports, a smartwatch, a Lexus, eight phones, four laptops, and Toyota cars were seized from the suspects.

The anti-graft agency explained that the suspects would be charged in court as soon as the investigations are concluded.
