EFCC arrests ex- Zamfara governor, Yari

The immediate past governor of Zamfara State, Abdulaziz Yari has been arrested again by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Sunday afternoon in Abuja.

The governor emeritus was arrested for finance malfeasance while he served as governor of the state.

A source, however, disclosed that the governor emeritus was arrested in connection with the ongoing N80 billion money laundering case against the suspended Accountant-General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris.

Congress gathered that the immediate past governor of Zamfara state, Yari had, at first, been arrested by the EFCC operatives over some financial dealings and misappropriation of funds belonging to Zamfara State government while he served as governor of the state.

The spokesman of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed his arrest, saying, “it is true but I am not speaking on it.
