Evah Tournament: Oyangbene defeats Bikorogha 1-0 win

In the second match of the Evah Tournament played in Ngbile primary school field in Kiagbodo, Burutu LGA, Delta State at about 8:30am, Oyangbene community secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Bikorogha community The closely contested encounter saw both teams display impressive skill and determination, but ultimately, Oyangbene’s precision and strategy paid off.
The winning goal, scored by Oyangbene, proved to be the decisive factor in the match, as Bikorogha was unable to find the back of the net despite their best efforts. The 1-0 win marks a significant milestone for Oyangbene in the tournament, as they aimed to build on this momentum in their upcoming matches.
The match was a testament to the high level of competition in the Evah Tournament, with both teams showcasing their skills and sportsmanship. Bikorogha, despite the loss, demonstrated remarkable resilience and teamwork, and will look to regroup and come back stronger in their next match.
However, Supper Comrade Joseph Evah, the national coordinator of the Ijaw Monitoring Group’ IMG, tournament was put up in honour of the departed Monarch, the Bigborogha II whose final passage rites are ongoing in Kiagbodo town, the ancestral headquarters of the kingdom in Burutu Local government area of Delta State.
