Explosion kills six, injures others in Plateau

No fewer than six people were killed at Kabong Central Community, a neighborhood of Jos North Local Government Area in Plateau State, in what is believed to have been an electrical explosion.

Congress gathered that two more people suffered significant injuries in the event, which happened on Saturday at around two in the morning.

It was learned that a transformer explosion occurred in the area resulting to lost of lives on Saturday morning.

“The blast sent shockwaves throughout the area, causing widespread panic and fear among the residents,” a local source claimed.

The event was confirmed when contacted by the State Police Command’s spokesman, DSP Alfred Alabo.

Yes, we are aware of the event at Kabong Central, which resulted in the deaths of six individuals and the gravely injured status of two more, Alabo said.

The Bingham University Teaching Hospital in Jos is treating one of the injured people, and the Jos University Teaching Hospital is treating the other.

The fire incident, according to early reports, was brought on by an electrical explosion nearby.
