FAAN Heightens Airport Health Surveillance Following Ebola Case
By Micheal Chukwuebuka
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) says it is working with the NCDC, Port Health Services and NCAA to support public health measures following the confirmation of an Ebola case in Abuja.
A statement signed by Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Henry Agbebire states that FAAN is maintaining heightened vigilance across airport operations and will continue to coordinate with public health authorities, align it’s response with further guidance and support additional measures considered necessary to safeguard passengers, airport personnel and the public.
The authority urges passengers, airlines, airport users and other stakeholders to remain calm, vigilant and cooperative with health officials, while advising the public to rely on verified information and avoid spreading unconfirmed reports.
