Fanfare As Amaseikumor Festival 2024 Commences In Oporoza

Fanfare as the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom in the Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State commenced its ancient Amaseikumor Festival, beginning from today (April 12, 2024) in Oporoza community, the ancestral headquarters of the kingdom.

 

Congress gathered that the event which began Friday, will end next week Wednesday, April 17, 2024.

 

According to report, this is one of the widely celebrated festivals in the whole of West Africa. It is attended by personalities including, traditional rulers, top government functionaries, chief executives of multinational corporations and expatriates from foreign countries.

 

The great festival of Amaseikumor had reportedly endured for ages and is described as one of the oldest festivals in Nigeria.

 

The week-long programme is encompassed by cultural entertainment, football, boat regatta, best Ijaw cultural dance, wrestling competition, live music entertainment among other attractions beginning throughout the duration of the festival.

 

The kingdom invites the general public from all walks of life to come and get entertained. There will be accommodation with food and drinks are in abundance. The environment is conducive and safe for guests and visitors eager to attend this year’s event.
