Fatal road crash kills 15 in Port Harcourt-Enugu highway

Pandemonium trailed a fatal road crash which claimed all 15 passengers in a Toyota bus on Port Harcourt-Enugu highway.

It was learned that the victims were killed and burnt beyond recognition in a head-on collision with a Mercedes truck on Saturday.

Meantime, the spokesman of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Assistant Corps Marshal Bisi Kazeem, confirmed the accident in a statement on Sunday in Abuja.

He explained that the accident happened at the end of the Enugu highway at 8:20 pm.

“The victims have been given mass burial. All obstructions have been cleared. The Enugu State Fire Service already extinguished the fire on the bus.

“The fatal crash is blameable on several factors, including fatigue, which must have made one of the drivers sleep on the wheels.’’, he added.
