Fears As Supreme Court Decides Tinubu-Shettima’s Fate Today

Today, Friday May 26, 2023 will determine whether the president elect, Bola Tinubu and his vice, Kashim Shettima will be the one to govern Nigeria for the next four years or not, as supreme court is set to rule on Tinubu’s victory over alleged double nomination by his running mate, Kashim Shettima.

Recall, Congress News had earlier reported that the opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, wanted the disqualification of Tinubu and his vice, Shettima over alleged double nomination.

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP maintained that the act of double nomination violated the electoral laws of the country.

The opposition party party argued that the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC breached the law by nominating Shettima as the Senatorial candidate for Borno Central and as Vice Presidential candidate.

However, the expected apex court ruling is causing some panic among Nigerians.

The president elect, Bola Tinubu, is expected to be inaugurated in the next coming days, May 29, as the executive president of Nigeria, but the decision of the court might either make or mare the event.
