FG Congratulates Hungary’s New PM Péter Magyar

Federal Government has congratulated the new government of Hungary following the inauguration of Prime Minister Péter Magyar in Budapest.

In a statement, Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Minister Bianca Ojukwu conveyed the Federal Government’s commendation to the Tisza Party on its victory in the April 12th’s Parliamentary Elections.

The Minister describes the transition as a significant moment in Hungary’s democratic evolution, and reflects the enduring importance of democratic participation, constitutional governance, and peaceful political transition in strengthening national institutions and public trust.

The Minister pointed out the existing cordial ties with Hungary, built on mutual respect and cooperation in education, agriculture, trade, energy, and capacity development.

Particularly, she noted- “Nigeria values Hungary’s scholarship and educational exchange programmes, which have contributed significantly to strengthening people-to-people relations between the two nations.”

Bianca Ojukwu reaffirmed Nigeria”s readiness to deepen bilateral relations and work closely with the new Hungarian administration on regional stability, democratic governance, and shared interests in multilateral forums including the United Nations and other global platforms.
