FG Congratulates Sao Tome President On Re-election

The Federal Government has congratulated Carlos Vila Nova on his re-election as President of the Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe.

In a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nigeria praised the people of Sao Tome and Principe, saying that once again the electorates have demonstrated their commitment to democratic values and the rule of law by participating in a peaceful electoral process.

The Federal Government therefore reaffirmed Nigeria’s solidarity with São Tomé and Príncipe and its commitment to strengthening bilateral ties in areas of regional peace, economic development, and democratic consolidation.

The statement also wished President Vila Nova a successful second term, and prayed for continued progress, stability, and prosperity for the people of São Tomé and Príncipe.
