Fire explosion kills one, burns 5 in Delta

One person has been declared dead while about 5 have been seriously burnt in a fire explosion in the creeks of Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State.

The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon when fire explosion rocked a local refinery site, killing one while about five were seriously burnt in Warri Rivers.

The victims were sighted in Warri Miler Jetty when they were rushed to a hospital in a fast speed boat on Thursday afternoon.

A young man who pleaded anonymity alleged that the victims got burnt when fire gutted the local refinery site during when they were refining petroleum products in the creeks.

But it was not clear how Hausa boys were found in such a trade in the creeks of Niger Delta.

However, the cause of the fire explosion was still sketchy at press time.
