Fire Razes Ebonyi Court, Destroys Property Worth N40 Million

A suspected spark from an electricity transformer has resulted in a fire incident which gutted Ebonyi High Court and burnt exhibits and court one chamber.

According to the report, the incident happened on Friday late at night. The fire is said to have started from one of the transformers in the court environment.

The incident was confirmed by the Chief Registrar, Mr Nnenna Onuoha, who stated that it took the intervention of those living in the staff quarters and security men to control the fire.

He stated that the inferno destroyed so many exhibits and the court chamber.

Nnenna asserted that property worth 40 million naira was lost to the incident.

However, he thanked God as no life was lost to the fire incident.
