Flood: Over 500 persons affected, properties worth millions destroyed in Delta Community

No fewer than 500 persons have been affected and 300 residents displaced by heavy flooding incident in Okere community.
According to a report, the incident occurred on November 1, 2023 were homes and properties worth millions of naira were destroyed following a day heavy downpour.
The community was submerged after the flood collapsed a foreshore wall and a bridge connecting the community in midnight.
Congress gathered that many children and elderly people were still missing at the time of filing this report.
While recounting losses, affected residents had appealed to the Federal and State Governments, NGOs and kind-hearted Nigerians to come to their aid, adding that all their life savings had gone down the drain.
