Some stranded citizens who visited the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, office, Esisi road, Warri, Warri South Local Government Area for registration have accused staff of the office of fraud and recklessness to service delivery on Wednesday.

Congress correspondent who visited the office reported that over two hundred people were found stranded as there was no INEC staff to attend to them since on Monday.

The angry citizens who spoke to our correspondent alleged that the INEC staff only attend to people who pay between N1000 and N1500 in the Warri registration centre in Esisi road.

Our correspondent also gathered that there is a shortfall of staff in the office, adding that only two staff were found in the office at the time of the visit.

It was also learnt that fight broke out in the Warri registration centre on Monday due to deliberate refusal of INEC staff to attend to dozen of people who visited the centre for restoration.

A woman who is identified as Queen told Congress that she filled her form for the registration since on Monday but had not been attended to by the commission’s staff till now.

According Queen, ” I have filled my form since on Monday. They refused to attend to me. I will not go to anywhere today until they register me.

“I don’t have money to bribe any staff to be registered. They told us that registration is free. Why staff here are collecting money to register people, she queried.

However, efforts to reach official of INEC in Warri South local government area for comment proved abortive.
