Fulani militants abduct 8 students in Zamfara

Suspected Fulani militants have abducted about eighty children between the age of 12 and 17 in Tsafe Local Government of Zamfara state, according to BBC report.

Congress gathered abduction of by suspected gunmen intensified in Northern Nigeria after the 2023 general election.

It would be recalled that the former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Professor Onje Gye-Wado was also abducted few minutes before night at his country home, Rinza Village in Wamba Local Government.

According the report, his abductors reportedly gained entrance into the compound through the fence, broke the window to his wife’s apartment and whisked the professor to an unknown destination.

On Tuesday, April 4, Gunmen in northern Kaduna state kidnapped eight secondary school students coming from school along with an unknown number of others, authorities, according to the report.

Commissioner for Internal Security, Mr. Samuel Aruwan said the gunmen on Monday abducted the eight students from Awon Government Secondary School in the Kachia local government area.

“The management of the school has submitted the names and classes of the kidnapped students,” said Aruwan.
