Gov. Fintiri Rolls Out Palliatives To Cushion Fuel Subsidy Removal Effects

As many Nigerians were still dangling around abject poverty following the removal of petroleum subsidy by the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Executive Governor of Adamawa state, Ahmedu Umaru Fintiri, has rolled out palliatives to cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal.

Following consultations with organized labour, the state governor has taken proactive steps to support the state’s citizens during this challenging period.

The measure involves a subsidy allowance of N10,000 to all pensioners on the state government payroll monthly, which was aimed to alleviate the immediate burden caused by subsidy removal and offer support to those who are facing financial difficulties.

In addition, Governor Fintiri improved the standard of living for Local government workers, with the full implementation of the minimum wage by the Federal Government.

He also secure essential food items, 70 trucks of maize and 20 trucks of rice, to be distributed to the public at subsidized prices, making food supplies more accessible to citizens.

The State Governor also support the farmers with 50 trucks of fertilizer and also transportation support will be given to ease commuting challenges within the state and local government areas to workers.
