GOVERNOR Ademola Adeleke of Osun State on Thursday, August 20, visited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, where he presented his certificate of return to the President and appreciated him for a free and fair election in Osun state.

Speaking to State House correspondents after the meeting, Adeleke said he visited the President to appreciate his commitment to democracy and the conduct of the election in Osun.

The governor described Tinubu as the “father of the nation” and said the President had contributed to the struggle for democracy in Nigeria.

“Yeah, that is why I’m here to thank Mr. President, the father of the nation, because he fought for this democracy,” Adeleke said.

He said Tinubu’s decision to allow a free and fair election contributed to the outcome recorded in Osun State.

“That is why he allowed free and fair election, and that is the result,” he said

Adeleke said the visit was also to appreciate the President for his role in promoting democratic governance in the country.

“That is why I’m here, to say thank you to ensure that democracy lives in Nigeria,” the governor said.
