The goal assigned to Cross River State Governor Prince Bassey Otu is to focus on enhancing security inside the state.

The state capital of Calabar is seeing an increase in kidnappings and other criminal activity, according to recent reports.

The call was placed at the Nigeria Police Headquarters in Zone Six, Calabar, by oil magnate Elder Samuel Chukwudi.

“Govern Otu should go the extra mile to beef up security in Calabar and parts of the state because, without it, fears of safety would continue to play in the minds of citizens, visitors, and residents,” Chukwudi stated. “More visitors and holidaymakers were expected for the 32-day annual Calabar Carnival festival.”

“When kidnapping and armed robbery continue to prevail, visitors and residents would be very scared.”

But the businessman hinted that the state administration should be commended for taking on insecurity head-on over the past few months.
