Gunmen abduct Navy personnel, 7 others in N’Delta

Eight individuals, including a Navy officer, were kidnapped on Monday night at Classic Point Hotel in Ibaka, Mbo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom state. The victims were taken away by gunmen to an unknown location.

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command confirmed the incident on Tuesday, with the Police Public Relations Officer, Timfon John, stating that the Commissioner of Police, CP Waheed Ayilara, led a team of security personnel to the community to restore normalcy.

The Naval authority in Akwa Ibom has yet to comment on the incident, which comes days after a bus driver and 18 passengers were abducted while traveling from Uyo to Port Harcourt, Rivers state, with their whereabouts still unknown.
