How mysterious fire razed NPA quarter in Warri

Residents of Nigeria Port Authority, NPA residential quarter in Warri Delta state have been thrown into a serious pains and agonies following the fire explosion that set ablaze the entire area on Wednesday evening.

The incident which occurred at about 8:30 had razed over hundred buildings, destroyed properties worth millions of Naira.

It was gathered that the fire escalated due to the late arrival of the firemen and inadequate fire service vehicles and personnel.

Sources told Congress news that the fire emanated from a suspected residence and spread quickly abroad.

According to sources, the inferno was suspected to have been caused by gas cylinder explosion which fire spread to fuel stores in the area.

Residents who spoke with our correspondent lamented that the level of damage caused by the fire was unimaginable.

They said victims lost all life savings, money, properties and other valuable documents.

Reacting to the incident, Mrs Blessings, a trader who is a victim of the inferno explained that she had not witnessed such tense fire outbreak in her life.

She described the fire as an harmattan fire as it quickly spread abroad and consumed the entire quarter. However, traders and residents in the area who lost all their life savings had called on Delta state governor senator Ifeanyi Okowa to come to their aid.
