Reno Omokri, former aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, has accused a Nigerian broadcaster, Rufai Oseni, of using his broadcasting platform, Arise TV to openly campaign for the presidential candidate of Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi, in the 2023 general election.

According to a post by Reno Omokri on Friday, August 25, he stated that Mr Oseni uses the Arise TV platform as a medium to campaign for and launder the image of Peter Obi for Presidential ambition.

“On Tuesday, November 22, 2022, Mr Rufai Oseni, while interviewing me on AriseTV, falsely alleged that Chicago State University received a subpoena and, based on that subpoena, Chicago State University denied Bola Tinubu’s academic qualification. Now that Chicago State University has deposed to an affidavit at a Chicago court swearing under oath that Bola Tinubu did attend and graduate from their institution, can Mr Rufai Oseni and AriseTV publish the so-called subpoena by which they claimed Chicago State University denied Bola Tinubu? Reno Omokri stated

“Did Peter Obi fund the funeral of Mr. Rufai Oseni’s father by giving him money in cash or via electronic means, either directly or through a third party, and has that influenced Mr Oseni’s open bias in favour of Peter Obi, whereby Mr Oseni usee the AriseTV platform as a medium to campaign for and launder the image of Mr Peter Obi, and his undisguised personal animosity towards me for my refusal to support Mr Peter Obi’s Presidential ambition?

“Mr. Rufai Oseni caused a to be broadcast a video on Sunday, November 27, 2022, in which he alleged that I lied when I said I visited Chicago State University on Monday, September 19, 2022, to investigate in person whether or not Mr. Tinubu did attend and graduate from Chicago State University. Can either Mr Rufai Oseni or AriseTV substantiate those allegations against me, especially as I furnished both video and other documentary evidence of my visit, including phone numbers and email addresses for the registry of that Institution?

“On a phone call to my brother, which was recorded at various times in the first week of December 2022, Mr Rufai Oseni threatened to “destroy” me, “take me out,” and make me “cease to exist”. Can Mr. Rufai Oseni clarify to the public what he meant by those threats? And if he cannot, can AriseTV provide clarity on his behalf?

“In a tweet he caused to be published on Monday, November 28, 2022, Mr. Rufai Oseni cast aspersions on a letter given to me by Chicago State University, stating that Mr Bola Tinubu, a male, did, in fact, graduate from Chicago State University in 1979. Can either Mr Rufai Oseni or AriseTV state whether they made attempts to contact Chicago State University either via email or phone to verify the authenticity of the letter I published, and if they did not, then on what basis did Mr Rufai Oseni cast aspersions on them, other than for reasons of personal animosity against me for exposing him as a liar, and in support of his mission to promote the Presidential ambition of Mr Peter Obi.

“After apologising to me for lying, in the presence of the proprietor of AriseTV, and after I agreed to let the matter go, why did Rufai Oseni subsequently call my brother to insult me, make false accusations against me, and threaten my life in a recorded phone call, and then caused someone to call my , who was experiencing severe health challenges, to harass ***, to cause strife and disunity within my family, who were then preparing for a wedding?

“Why has Mr Rufai Oseni, in subsequent on-air and online commentary, continued to assert the lies he told during that interview, which have now been proved to be conclusively and false by Chicago State University in its court deposition before a Chicago State Court? He added.
