Ibadan poly students urged to return to school

Students of the Polytechnic, Ibadan has been urged to return to the campus, adding that there would be provision of maximum security by the school management.

The call was made by Students’ Union Government (SUG) of Ibadan polytechnic on Tuesday.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) gathered that The Polytechnic Ibadan had recently witnessed several shooting incidents on the campus which led to the ‘stay away from the campus’ order by the SUG.

In a statement issued by SUG President, Adedeji Abdulazeez, advised students to resume to class from Monday, April 11, 2022.

“In lieu with the meeting held with the school management on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, the students’ leaders of the institution requested for a lasting solution to the insecurity issues on campus which led to the stay-at-home advice to our students.

“The Union is very glad to inform the student populace that the management has granted our request on the insecurity issues on campus by providing an external security unit which includes: State CID, DSS, Amotekun and Operation Burst.

“We say a very big thanks and kudos to the management for taking the welfare of our students as a priority,” he added.
