IGL marks end of year party, preaches against hard drugs, harps for democracy dividends, grassroots movement

A non-profit pressure group under the auspices of the Independent Grassroot Liberators (IGL), Friday celebrated her annual end of year party which flanked with a rally tour in Ogbe-Ijoh town, the headquarters of Warri south west LGA, advocating against hard drugs, teenage pregnancy and harped for the dividends of democracy and grassroots movement in the community.


The event which took place on Friday 22th December, 2023 at Ogbe-Ijoh Warri south west LGA was massively attended by leaders and youths in the local government area.

The end of year celebration which was chaired by the president of the organization Amb Bene Mam-mam Youkore, sensitised the grassroots stakeholders and youths against hard drugs, cultism teenage pregnancy, yahoo(internet fraud) and other social vices among young youths.

While emphasising on the negative effects of hard drugs, cultism, and teenage pregnancy, the group further admonished youth stakeholders in Ogbe-Ijoh community and Ijaw Nation at large to reposition themselves to play a mainstream politics to fit themselves into leadership positions in the future in Delta state and beyond.

The Grassroot organization is aimed at supporting disadvantage people to reposition themselves to improve the social, cultural and economic well-being of their families, communities and society at large.

The statement reads, “Focusing on capacity building, promotes inclusiveness and resilience. It provides a space for community to address local issues, find common ground and balance competing interests”.
