INEC to Deploy 1.4 Million NYSC Members for 2027 General Elections

The Chairman of INEC, Professor Joash Amupitan says 1.4 million National Youth Corps members will be deployed for the 2027 general election.

Professor Amupitan, stated this when he paid a courtesy visit to the Director-General of the NYSC, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu in Abuja.

For the Ekiti and Osun governorship elections and the bye-elections in Nasarawa, Enugu, Rivers, Ondo, Kebbi and Kano states about 53 thousand corps members will be engaged.

As the elections approach, the INEC chairman promises adequate welfare and proper training for the NYSC members.

The NYSC DG, commended the partnership between the two agencies and promised to ensure corps members remain apolitical during the elections.
